About Havanese

Havanese dogs were originally bred as companion dogs to Cuban aristocracy in the 1800s. They make great family dogs, and love nothing more than being with their family. Their love for their family makes them eager to please making them highly trainable. They have a cheerful, carefree attitude towards life and love going outdoors for walks, hikes, or camping. The Havanese excels in dog sports and canine careers and sports. 

This breed has a hypoallergenic coat, and will not shed much. The Havanese have unique coats also come in all colors of the rainbow. Their coats are also widely regarded as one of the softest dogs in the world. They weigh between 7-13 pounds, and have an average lifespan of about 15-18 years. Additionally, they have a surprising amount of energy for their size, making them perfect companions for moderately active families.
